Request this private tourA cycling adventure in North-Tallinn takes you through a multifaceted district and the vibrant Paljassaare peninsula. From the imposing Patarei Prison to the former slums and factories of Kopli, the route brings together nature, history, street art and hidden industrial ruins.
The journey begins at Patarei Prison, once part of Peter the Great’s Naval Fortress. From there, contrasting views unfold through the Seaplane Harbour and its remarkable 20th-century concrete hangars, then onward to the creative Noblessner Quarter.
The Paljassaare Nature Conservation Area rewards us with sweeping views of reedbeds, meadows and the sea. The peaceful landscape also has deep military roots: Paljassaare remained closed to civilians until 1991.
Kopli
Explore Kopli’s industrial landscape and its historic “lines”, a former miniature village built for shipyard workers. We also enter the Põhjala factory, once a rubber plant and now a thriving community for creative people.
The return journey winds through Kalamaja’s small streets and colorful wooden houses. Once home to factory workers and fishermen, the neighborhood has become one of Tallinn’s liveliest creative areas, filled with cafés, boutiques and studios.
The tour ends where it began, leaving you with a new perspective on North Tallinn’s historical heritage, street art, industrial ruins and remarkable natural landscapes.
